    Viking County Mutual Insurance Company is a property and casualty insurance with Sentry Insurance Group as its parent company. Established in 1951, it adopted its present name in 1989. Along with three other companies (Viking Insurance Company of Wisconsin, Peak Property and Casualty, and Viking County Mutual Insurance), they make up Viking Insurance which were bought by Sentry Insurance in 2005. These Viking companies sell specialty and non standard auto insurance through more than 7,900 independent agencies in 27 states.

    Sentry Insurance was founded in 1904 by members of the Wisconsin Retail Hardware Association to supply quality insurance for its members. Sentry has protected business, families and individuals with strength, protection and vigilance throughout its more than 100-year history. Sentry is one of the biggest and sturdiest mutual insurance companies in the United States, with assets of $10 billion and a policyholder surplus of more than $3 billion.     The company’s high risk driver auto insurance provides reasonably priced insurance that meets the needs of people with no previous insurance or less-than-perfect driving histories. There are flexible pay plans to fit the budget and lifestyle of clients. Part of the company’s services include a 24-hour claims service, experienced representatives ready to answer coverage and billing questions, waived deductible if the windshield can be repaired, rental car coverage, defense costs if clients are involved in a lawsuit covered by the policy, and reduced or eliminated deductible when clients choose a warranted after-market part for repair. It also offers physical damage coverage programs at competitive rates, providing coverage for burglary and theft, fire and hail, among others. Premiums can be conveniently included within loan payment and the rates are fixed.

    As of December 31, 2009, the company has total assets of $2,260,299 and net surplus of $2,220,593. It has property and casualty premium of $1,678,526 and national premium of $1,678,526. Since 2008, Viking County Mutual received zero complaints.
