On December 21, 1977, The Sagicor Allnation Insurance Company was founded under the name EPIC Corporation, licensed and regulated under the existing laws of the state of Delaware. The Company went public and decided to sell its shares to common stocks in October 1984 under which time became a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shields of Delaware Incorporated.

On October 30, 1986, the Company’s name was changed to Allnation Liability Insurance Company and was again revised on March 27, 1997 to Allnation Insurance Company. The Sagicor Life Insurance Company Inc. purchased Allnation Insurance from Blue Cross and Blue Shields of Delaware Incorporated which was finalized on February 1, 2001. Following the sale, the operation, administration and management was assumed by Sagicor Life Insurance Company Inc. and on the 3rd of November, 2004, the Company’s name was finally changed to Sagicor Allnation Insurance Company adopting amended articles of incorporation.

The Sagicor Allnation Insurance Company has cancelled all international health insurance policies effective on February 1, 2008. On the 14th of September 2008, it started operating as a subsidiary of Gulf Insurance (PCC) Limited. Sagicor Allnation Insurance Company reached an arrangement with Gulf Insurance PCC Limited to provide new policies to all former Sagicor Allnation plan holders who wish to acquire coverage beginning February 1, 2008.

The Sagicor Allnation Insurance Company Inc. provides health insurance products and services to individuals and groups residing in and outside the country. The Company also specializes in and is well known for providing insurance coverage to U.S. expats and other key American nationals living outside the United States under the age of 65. The Company also offers medical and dental plans, including, critical illness and hospital cash options, as well as group kidnap and ransom polices. The Company markets and sells their services through a network of independent agents and brokers as well as through the internet.

Arthur J Bethell is the Chairman of Sagicor Life Insurance Company Incorporated while Dr. Patricia Downes-Grant, is the President and Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Directors includes Andrew Aleong, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles,Dodridge D. Miller, Dr. Jeannine Comma, Christopher de Caires, William Lucie-Smith, Stephen D R McNamara and David Wright.

A.M. Best Co. has elevated the Financial Strength Rating of Sagicor Life Insurance Company Incorporated to A- (Excellent) from B++ (Good) as well as the Issuer Credit Rating (ICR) to “a-” from “bbb+”. The outlook for all ratings is stable. The positive evaluations and ratings received by the company is testament to its ability to meet all financial obligations to all their policy holders in and around the United States.
