Protecting people’s dream – this is Badger Mutual Insurance Company’s famous tagline. It swears to protect your dream by offering various personal insurance policies and investments such as automobile, dwelling/fire, homeowners, Inland Marine, Personal Umbrella, and even renters. In addition, its offerings don’t end in personal insurance plans; it also extends to commercial lines such workers’ compensation, umbrella, and even commercial package policies.
In 1887, a group of Milwaukee, Lutheran churchmen decided to manage a society of mutual aid in order to compensate for the high insurance rates from various firms following the Great Chicago Fire and to further protect their properties and churches from possible conflagrations in the future. It was on March 13 of that year when 137 signed the declaration of their being part of the foundation, Badger Mutual Insurance Company. John Schwartz was elected as its first president.
It has been over 100 years since BMIC was established, and it has been that long that it has provided quality services. This is made possible by its top executives, brokers, and employees headed by its president and chief executive officer Roy Bubeck; executive vice president and Insurance Operations’ president David Kane; Marketing/Sales VP George Wilson; Accounting and Data Systems VP and chief finance officer Darrin Groendal; Commercial Lines VP Jim Kaufman; VP and Community Relations and Human Resources secretary Karen Kirk; Information Technology assistant VP Dan Nigro; and Claims assistant VP Kathy Wilcox.
With numerous policies that BMIC offers, it provides comprehensive description of each policy to prevent confusion. For personal insurance, it offers protection for automobile, condominium units, home, watercrafts, and even recreational vehicles. On the other hand, BMIC’s commercial insurance only offers workers’ compensation and umbrella.
In order to make a great deal with its policyholders, it also offers insurance packages depending on its client’s needs. The latter are given the freedom to choose only a number of insurance to include in their package, thus making them pay less, but still with quality protection.
Additionally, BMIC has opened satellite offices in Arizona, Illinois, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Utah in order to accommodate clients from these states.
Transparency and dependability – these are the characteristics that clients truly admire about BMIC. It has never failed to post and update its clients, including their financial status. BMIC’s 2009 financial statement shows that the company is on a steady, upward motion of being financially strong, as manifested by a total net income of more than $90 million, compared with $80 million in 2008, and a decrease in net income loss from over $3 million (2008) to $1 million (2009).
Currently, this Wisconsin-based company has had undergone several tests from different rating and analysis centers, one of which is the A.M. Best.
